  1. What version of Mac OS X do I need?

Private Eye runs on Mac OS X Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8), Mavericks (10.9), Yosemite (10.10), and El Capitan (10.11).

  2. Why don't I see any connections?

Sometimes, but very rarely, the installation goes silently wrong because of a bug in Apple's Installer.app. Try running the Private Eye installer again. It solves all problems in 99% of the cases.

  3. Can I block applications from making connections?

Yes, with the separate Radio Silence firewall. Private Eye itself only monitors the connections.

  4. I found a bug. What now?

Please contact me, and I'll fix it. The current up-to-date contact information is in the footer of the page. Thanks!

  5. How do I uninstall Private Eye?

You can simply move the Private Eye application to the Trash. If you want to be thorough and remove all traces of the app, also delete the following file:

    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.radiosilenceapp.nke.PrivateEye.plist
